Your Tasks
Opportunity:
We are looking for a analytical individual to join a fast-paced finance team based in Rochester*. As a financial controller, you will assist the Finance Director with creating and maintaining bugets, management reporting and financial accounting. In addition, you will spend a considerable amount of time working closely with the operational team, analysing our thriving business, supporting pricing and profitability calculations and visualising our KPI. The role combines commercial decision-making and more traditional financial controlling (digging into costs, explaining actual-vs-budget variances etc.) in roughly equal measure.
As we are about to implement a state of the art, E2E business system, there is opportunity to be creative by shaping data outputs and defining analyses. va-Q-tec uses Business Central, CRM, Sharepoint and the business system is also built on a Microsoft architecture.

Your Profile
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as a Controller, Financial or Data Analyst, Finance Manager or similar.
- Analysis of large data sets, cleansing/sorting data for meaningful analysis.
Essential Skills:
- Sound grounding in financial accounting (both P&L and Balance Sheet) and with it the ability to interpret financial information.
- Thorough understanding of the most common business KPI.
- Strong Excel skills mandatory (incl. pivot tables, lookups, indexmatch, graphs), Power-BI ex-perience advantageous, as would be typical data analyst skills in order to organize and trans-form information into comprehensible structures.
- Ability to advise co-workers and stakeholders of any financial changes affecting the business.
- Experience in conducting reviews and evaluation of cost-reduction opportunities.
- Distill analysis into concrete findings and formulate recommended actions in plain language.
- Advanced presentation skills and ability to produce accurate financial reports to deadlines.
- Initiative to follow up on open issues independently and with tenacity.
Hours: 35-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: £40,000.00+ depending on experience.
Holiday: 25 days' holiday, in addition to bank/public holidays.
