In addition, you will spend a considerable amount of time working closely with the operational team, analysing our thriving business, supporting pricing and profitability calculations and visualising our KPI.  The role combines commercial decision-making and more traditional financial controlling (digging into costs, explaining actual-vs-budget variances etc.) in roughly equal measure.

As we are about to implement a state of the art, E2E business system, there is opportunity to be creative by shaping data outputs and defining analyses. va-Q-tec uses Business Central, CRM, Sharepoint and the business system is also built on a Microsoft architecture.

Company-wide Responsibilities:

  • Maintain standards in line with the requirements of the role and any va-Q-tec Ltd policies and procedures in place.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time.
  • Work any additional hours as the requirements of the job demand, subject to prior negotiation.
  • Comply with equal opportunities legislation and be pro-active in challenging prejudice, discrimination and stereotyping.
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.

Your Profile

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Controller, Financial or Data Analyst, Finance Manager or similar.
  • Analysis of large data sets, cleansing/sorting data for meaningful analysis.

Essential Skills:

  • Sound grounding in financial accounting (both P&L and Balance Sheet) and with it the ability to interpret financial information.
  • Thorough understanding of the most common business KPI.
  • Strong Excel skills mandatory (incl. pivot tables, lookups, indexmatch, graphs), Power-BI ex-perience advantageous, as would be typical data analyst skills in order to organize and trans-form information into comprehensible structures.
  • Ability to advise co-workers and stakeholders of any financial changes affecting the business.
  • Experience in conducting reviews and evaluation of cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Distill analysis into concrete findings and formulate recommended actions in plain language.
  • Advanced presentation skills and ability to produce accurate financial reports to deadlines.
  • Initiative to follow up on open issues independently and with tenacity.
